Topaz - Year 6
Class Teacher - Ms Deacon
Following a whole-school election, the children decided to name this year's classes after gems and precious stones. Pure topaz is colourless and transparent but is usually tinted by impurities; typical topaz is yellow, pale grey, reddish-orange, or blue brown. It can also be white, pale green, blue, gold, pink and orange. Topaz is the birthstone for the month of December, and the stone given in celebration of the 4th and 19th anniversaries of marriage. Topaz is a symbol of love and affection. Blue topaz is said to be a stone of peacefulness, calming to the emotions, and ideal for meditation and connecting with spiritual beings. Some people also believe it is a natural magnifier of psychic abilities, assisting those who wish to attune to inner guidance, as well as those who serve others through readings or spiritual healing.
